Safety Operating Procedures for Steel Rolling

Safety Operating Procedures for the Adjustment Worker Position

During the normal rolling process, when the adjuer is adjusting the rolling mill, they must not stand at the exit of the rolled piece. If they need to adjust the exit, they must inform the operator to prevent the rolled piece from rushing out and injuring people.

	2. When the rolling mill is in operation, if it is necessary to measure the size of the hole type, it can only be done at the direction of the rolling mill outlet.

	3. During operation, if it is found that the water pipe has fallen off or the screws of the pressure plate are loose and need to be adjusted, the gloves must be removed and the cuffs tightened before commencing work.

	4. If it is necessary to stop the vehicle for repair or replacement of parts during operation, work can only be carried out after the vehicle has completely stopped running.

	5. If it is necessary to stand on the protective cover of the rolling mill sleeve to make adjustments, one must inform the relevant operation console personnel in advance and obtain their approval. Rolling can only be resumed after the operation has stopped.

	6. The installation of rolls and guide guards must comply with the requirements of the operating procedures. During commissioning, one should concentrate fully and not touch the angular transmission parts with hands.

	7. When the rolling mill is operating normally, it is strictly prohibited to measure the roll gap or touch the surface of the roll gap in the direction of the biting entry, and it is also forbidden to touch other rotating parts at the corner.

	8. When adjusting the operation of the rolling mill, always pay attention to the flow of red steel and stand in a safe area.

Safety Technical Operating Procedures for Steel Rolling Positions

When starting up, it is necessary to check whether all parts of the rolling mill are normal. Only after confirming that all inspectors have left and obtaining the consent of the production organizer can a signal be given to notify the start of the machine.

	2. The protective devices of all parts of the rolling mill series must be in good condition and complete.

	3. During the production process, at the exit of the rolling mill, no one is allowed to stand on the opposite side when prying steel on each roller track.

	4. When disassembling and assembling the rolls, a dedicated person should direct the crane. No one is allowed to stand on the lifted object, and the components must be placed flat on the pads.

	5. When dealing with faults, if it is necessary to stop the machine for handling, it must be done only after the rolling mill has come to a complete stop.

	6. It is prohibited to roll low-temperature steel to prevent roll breakage, which may cause personal and equipment accidents.

	7. When changing rolls, do not touch the ends of the rolls or the roll changing tools with your hands to prevent accidental injuries such as being squeezed, hit or bumped.

	8. During roller changing, disassembly and assembly of guide guards and other operations, it is strictly prohibited to work simultaneously up and down to prevent injuries from falling objects.

Technical Operating Procedures for Driving Safety

Before the vehicle starts running, carefully check and test whether the limit switches of all parts are normal. Before driving, sound the alarm bell to indicate the operation.

	2. Crane operators must adhere to the "Eight Do Not Lift" :

Objects are not lifted when no one is directing them

	Do not lift when overloaded

If there are people on the lifted object, do not lift it

Do not hang if the instructions are unclear or the gestures are not clear

Do not lift if the lifting gear is not safe

Do not lift if the tilt exceeds 30 degrees

It won't lift if the brake doesn't work

Do not lift if the lifted object is unbalanced

	3. The crane operator must adhere to the "four Nos" :

	Don't drive the hero car

	Don't drive out of anger

	Don't drive an overloaded vehicle

	Don't drive a faulty car

When a vehicle breaks down, the power supply must be cut off immediately and a warning sign hung before handling the fault.

	5. If any faults are found in the crane hook, steel wire rope or chain, they should be reported to the relevant personnel for timely replacement and repair.

	6. It is strictly prohibited to pass over people. When it is impossible to pass, a bell must be rung as a warning. When lifting objects, they should be lifted and placed gently.

Safety Technical Operating Procedures for Steel Feeding Positions Behind the Furnace

	1. Regularly inspect the steel wire rope and chain. If any scratches or cracks are found, stop using it immediately.

	2. When the steel feeding personnel are discharging materials, the operator must turn off the control switch of the steel pusher.

	3. When there is no steel ejection signal, the steel ejection personnel have not withdrawn to a safe place or there is someone working at the steel ejection furnace door, the steel pushing machine must not be started to push steel.

	4. Hydraulic systems and high-speed transmission parts must not be used without protective covers.

When a malfunction occurs in the hydraulic system or an alarm is triggered for temperature or pressure, the machine should be stopped immediately for maintenance.

Safety Technical Operating Procedures for Roller Loading Positions

Before use, carefully inspect. If wear or broken wires are found, do not use it. Do not use it beyond its load capacity.

	2. A dedicated person should direct the operation of the vehicle. No one is allowed to stand or work under the lifted object.

	3. During the roller loading process, components must be properly placed and safety confirmations at the work site must be carried out. Work can only commence when safety requirements are met.

	4. When disassembling and installing bearings, keep a distance and do not move in the direction of the bearing housing to avoid squeezing or colliding injuries.

When stacking rolls, they should be properly padded with sleepers or placed on roll racks.

Refine the safety technical operation procedures for the position

Before starting each shift, a test run and inspection of the roller conveyor and transmission parts of the cooling bed must be conducted to ensure safety and reliability.

	2. The protective devices such as the baffle plates at the exit of the cooling bed must be kept in good condition.

	3. The red steel on the cooling bed should be placed in an orderly and flat sequence without any tilting to prevent injury from improper handling when one end is removed.

	4. When there is red steel on the cooling bed or when the cooling bed is in operation, no one is allowed to stand or walk on it.

	5. To eliminate faults in the cooling bed, the power supply must be cut off. The problem can only be dealt with after the cooling bed has stopped moving.
